more kids down

It's my lunch break now and I can happily announce that I am finished with one group of kids. There were only 4 at the lesson this morning so they were more manageable. And one wrote me a really cute thank-you note!

Went to the bank this morning - I was paid 738€ for February - yay!
A very silly Austrian thing is to not stagger lunchbreaks at shops...so they all close for lunch. Hrm. Makes it very difficult to make it to the bank or post office since they aren't open on weekends either and I work all week. Was up early this morning to get to the bank.

In reply to Mum's comment: no, my ski gear isn't ideal, but I can manage. For a ski instructor's standard, my skis and boots are too old and not the right type (not to mention that most instructors have at least 3 sets of skis) , but at the moment it's not worth the expense of replacing them since I can manage with the ones I've got. If we end up working next season skiing again then I'll probably buy new skis and boots.

Either a day off tomorrow or privates :)
Love always from Österreich

hahaha! i just read this from your old post:

"I'm completely accustomed to conversations that switch languages at regular intervals."

It made me laugh because it reminds me of the time you had dinner at my house and counted the number of times they switched back and forth between languages!!

I'm finally on March break- I spent a few days at Chris' house and now I'm home in the gerzillion feet of snow. Next week I'm going to Florida and then Texas (yeehaw) for rowing camp. I can't wait to go- I haven't been somewhere new in a while

And I can completely relate with your little annoying kids. My group of 4 year olds was a completely nightmare/disaster

The only thing worse than misbehaving little kids is misbehaving little kids on skis!!!

i miss yoU!

Hi Amanda,
Hope you enjoyed your day off after your challenging week with the little kids from hell.
Must be so nice to finally be paid at last.
I am going to send you a nice Ski Canada magazine in the mail. It may make you homesick with pictures of Tremblant and Whistler!
Wish that you and Tom were here to give Dad and I a few much needed tips to improve our skiing.
Lots of love from Lake Louise.
Mom XOXOXO

Thought of you today Amanda. Dad and I were in the gondola with a British ski instructor and 3 little kids. They were so demanding, and all competing for his attention! An exercise in patience!
On the plus side, he gave us great tips on skiing the mountain.
Lots of love from Canada,
Mom XOXOXO

P.S. Look out for a package in the mail.

That's okay - everyone in my family can go off and ski and compare stories/experiences while I'm stuck in Sydney!!

Not complaining or anything.

Love ya Maz

Snow report: overnight snow; -1 degree at base; light wind and wind-blown snow at summit; mum seen doing daring manouvre on bumps at start of "Wolverine"; head-plant graphically caught on film; all limbs intact.
